A tiny Blue Star Juniper can grow in a miniature garden for a couple/few years before getting too big for the pot. The bigger the pot, the longer it'll be happy. It's a fun way to save a lot of money on "full-sized" trees - buy the smaller conifers and grow them for a few years beforehand.
