More About Today's Garden - An Inground Miniature Vignette
Today's little vignette didn't start as a miniature garden. I saw an opportunity (read:
space 😁) for a little "somethin'-somethin'" over a year ago, planted some ground covers and only added some miniatures after I saw the chance. Here's more insight into what I have growin-on here so you can do the same:
Add a couple of ground covers - As the ground covers were getting established I nestled in a piece of
miniature patio in the gap between them. See our full-sun plants here.
The Mini
Patio - IMHO, I think the patio is important part of the miniature garden because it really brings the scale to the viewer instantly. We just don't expect to see a patio in miniature too! It's this combo of the patio with the miniatures that make the Awwww! moment - the plants will fall into whatever scale you are using and work, providing your using plants that "look" like full-sized plants in miniature. See the Sample Mini Patio Mix Kit here to make a tiny one, (and you can make the wee patio in a little cup, let it cure, then "install" it.)
Make a backdrop - trellis at the back is critical in capturing the vignette, as it gives keeps the eye focused on what's in front. See all our miniature trellises here.
A Place to Sit - I tend to always gravitate to benches for the simple reason that it's identifiable to everyone and brings home the enchantment instantly. See our variety of miniature benches we have in stock right now.
Found stone pieces - I put a couple of flagstone pieces in front of the patio for some stairs. For more ideas, see our Miniature Patio section here.
Add a fun focal point - the toad statue adds whimsy but a realistic whimsical piece - in this case the mini garden statuary - really make it look like a it could be in full size. See more miniature animal
statuary here.
