I'm going to keep this Gazette short because I wrote the world's longest blog post for you! I think you'll need a cuppa for this one... 

I've posted that Q & A article I wrote for the Container Garden Magazine up on the Mini Garden Guru blog today. But, you know me, I couldn't leave well-enough alone and added MORE photos and MORE details to it. You'll see the printed pages as well as close-ups and bigger photos of the miniature gardens that were highlighted in the mag. I hope you enjoy it! 

Keep in mind you have some crafty opportunities to give or showcase your miniature garden creativity coming up quickly: Earth Day is April 22nd, Arbor Day is April 27th and Mother's Day is May 11th. 

We now have over 70 back in stock plants and garden miniatures this month. We still have some rare trees and miniature perennials that are only available in the spring left too. And some annual flowering fairy plants as well. Check out the New and Back in Stock section here.

Indoor Photography is a lot trickier than photographing your miniature gardens outdoors. I think I'll have to take this one outside to get better shots of the understory. An overcast day is ideal for taking photos outside as the cloud-cover diffuses the harsh shadows from the sun.

The Norway Forest - 5 Months Apart: You can see just how leggy the Golden Baby Tears are now, 5 months later. For the winter months, I tried placing this indoor miniature garden in my sunniest window that faces west. The Norway Pines, the tallest trees with the long branches and the Parlor Palms did okay. The Golden Baby Tears and the Pilea needed more light. BUT, from experience, if I gave them more light, the Parlor Palms would not have been happy about it. The experiment continues...

The pathway through this 'Norway Forest' was designed with the jelly bean pathway pieces in mind - for this very reason. I wanted to see if I could really change the look of a miniature garden for a special occasion and I think I did it. It kinda works although the soil from the garden stains the jelly bean path so I have to be careful. No one likes a dirty miniature jelly bean pathway and I mean no one. Lol! 😆
