Hi !
I know this might be early for some - but the signs of spring are starting to come to the Great Northwest! The daffodils and tulips are showing
up, the Camelia and buds are about to bust and the birds are starting to sing for spring... hold on! We're almost there!
Winter Watering - Whassat??
In the meantime, if your area has been in freezing temperatures like we've had here in Seattle for the
last couple of weeks, remember to water your containers. In-ground plants "should" be okay as they have more soil around them to keep the roots hydrated. But anything in a container might need your help at this point in the season.
And, I know it might be a bit of a chore to do for some as your outdoor faucets are probably wrapped for the
winter. I get a couple of buckets, fill them up in the bathtub and let them sit for a couple/few of hours, then water. No need for hot or warm water, cold is fine. By letting the water sit, it lets the chlorine in the water evaporate which is better for the plants. I use two buckets because I only fill them up about ½ or ⅔ full so can carry them without spilling.
If your neighbor gives you a funny look for watering your container and miniature gardens in the snow, just say, "Janit said I should." and that should answer any questions. 😃
Survey Says!
Many, many thanks for all the feedback! You guys are the
BEST!
I asked if everyone was happy with the online store and whether it needed an update or not - because you use it too. And NOT ONE person said, "Yeah, it needs an update." Did I tell you you're the best?? 🥇
SO, in this relentless world of updates,
changes and the persistent pursuit of “new-new-new” - I think I’ll be a rebel and keep my store the same. Huzzah! You have no idea how light that made me feel when I saw your responses. Lol!
Holiday on Monday
I'm trying to keep this Gazette short as it's a long weekend with a federal
holiday on Monday - it's President's Day. BUT it's also Random Act of Kindness Day as a lighter, lovelier option and a PERFECT excuse for random gifts of miniature gardening... nudge, nudge, wink, wink. 😉

Stay warm, stay safe & stay sane - and spring is coming!
Whatever you do, make it fun, Valentine!
