Hi, ! It's holiday time! Well, kinda. Lol! Happy Canada Day weekend to all the Canucks! Aaaand then the Fourth of July, just
around the corner... It's funny how it seems that we wait and wait for summer to come and then we scramble to prepare now that it's suddenly here. Lol! We hope you're enjoying the season!
See the garden above decorated for Canada Day below. Today's Tip: With the summer fun about to start, making a miniature garden as a centerpiece for your outdoor table is a very fun way to enjoy your hobby. Not only do you get to sit there and play with it comfortably, it's a perfect conversation starter for backyard barbecues and get togethers. And you can put it on a Heavy Duty Turntable for more fun & engagement. The general rule of
thumb to figure out what scale of accessories to use for your centerpieces: - A garden less than 8" in diameter - use Medium Scale / ½-inch
scale accessories - Anything greater than 8" - use Large Size / 1-inch scale accessories - For tiny gardens, less than 4" across, use Small Size / ¼-inch scale accessories This ratio is important for the balance of your scene.
Large Size or 1"-inch scale accessories, (the most plentiful,) will completely dominate a small pot under 8" wide. It just won't look right.
Conversely, any Medium Size or 1/2" scale accessory (and are not as plentiful) will be swimming in a garden more than 8" wide. If you think you can just add more ½ scale accessories to fill it up, it still won't look in
porportion.
**The plants will work either way, it's the accessories and patio that tell the scale of the miniature garden. See our video demonstration here.
