Happy Weekend, !
Â
Well, I was going to talk about winterizing this week but the weather isn't cooperating. Lol! It's really
hard to get serious about fall and winter coming when it's still "summer" outside - and yet the fall equinox is on Sunday. Yowsa!Â
Â
I hope this finds you enjoying your "second summer" too! Remember, you can plant in-ground as long as the ground isn't frozen or soaking wet. You can plant a container any time of year - which is why
miniature gardening is such a wonderful hobby! We can ALWAYS play in the garden!
Â
Today's Tip: 3 Helpful Things!
What is that plant? - Use Google to help ID any plant. No
need to pay for an app to do this anymore. Open up your Google app (you may have to download it,) on your phone. You'll see the camera icon to the right of the microphone icon in the search bar. Tap on the camera icon and it'll open up. Point, click, search, done!
Â
Indoor Mini Garden Options - While the indoor miniature garden plants we do have up on the store are super-dependable and easy to grow, our friends over at the VioletBarn.com have a number of true miniature houseplants for us to add to our indoor mini garden beds. It's a great company that's been around for longer than we have, I think. (More on indoor mini gardens to come.)
Â
It's Miniature Pumpkin Time - NOW is the time to look for those real tiny pumpkins! When October comes, everyone will start to think about pumpkins and the cutest ones usually sell out pretty quickly. Here in Seattle, Trader Joes seems to have the smallest pumpkins I can find. Home Depot has them bundled with other small gourds but they are not as
small. Look now, before everyone else does.Â

Thank you all who came to my sale last Saturday! We had a few miniature gardeners that braved Seattle traffic and had to
get through a huge street festival to get to us. We are more than grateful: Sharon, Tammy, Joe and Baker, you guys rock. It was great to meet you in person! The next local sale is October 12th with more seasonal gardens, miniature gardens and container gift ideas. <3Â
