Planting Fun in the Mini Garden... Hi
, Thank you for the fun response from going "Barbie" last week! As a content creator, I am often very self-conscious of what I put out there as some of my ideas can sometimes be a bit questionable. (Ask Steve just how many of my ideas work. Lol!)
So it's always fun play with current events and to plant them into our hobby - literally! :o) 'Cause if you don't try, you won't know, you know? :o) And a word of caution: you might learn something new. Today's Garden: If today's garden was a painting, the paint would still be wet. Lol! Sometimes the Goddess of Inspiration waits and then waits some more before bestowing her blessings upon me. I just finished this last night so I'll have to get the plant details together and it's history
to post them on the blog for you next week. More deets below... Staying Cool: Hope you are staying safe and cool. At this point in the summer, any pot that you have that is a "full sun" pot can be moved into part sun / cool sun (eastern) spot for
until the weather starts to cool. It's this really hot afternoon sun that can dry out our containers too often. Water at night and use a saucer to help the soil absorb the excess water. Let me know if you have any questions about anything miniature garden - just hit reply. I think I'm back to my long newsletters again. Lol! Let me know if you enjoyed this one. It tells me I'm on the right track. Hit reply and thank you for reading! Whatever you do, make it fun, Miniature gardening doesn't need a season or a reason - that's why we keep our store stocked with plants, trees, patio
solutions and more, all year long. Because you can always plant your wee world in a container -
anytime!

The Evolution of a Miniature GardenThis miniature garden has certainly gone through some changes over the years. Like a real garden, plants can oftentimes force you to make changes and adjustments that you otherwise may not have thought to do. I love this aspect of miniature gardening because it gives me a reason to try different plants, designs and themes in different gardens every couple/few years. The joy of working in miniature is that most garden design ideas are very doable! The joy of gardening in miniature is that most garden design ideas are very, very doable! The first photo with the flamingo and the wheel barrow was taken in 2012. The garden was created specifically for my first Gardening in Miniature book, the Pond in a Pot project. The second July 4th photo is from 2014. But, now that I'm thinking about this garden,
there are more renovations that have gone on through the years that I'll have to dig out - pun totally intended. You can see that I've reused the tree (I flipped it around,) the containers and that Red Thyme. The other plants and trees I've repotted into containers until I can use them in another
miniature garden. IMPORTANT: Because I've taken-apart a well-established garden during the hottest part of the year, I need to really baby all of the plants that I've moved and repotted or replanted back in the big blue pot. I'll keep them all in bright shade and very carefully monitor the
watering so they are not over-watered. A Big Miniature Garden Thank You! To Maki in CA, Suzanne in GA, Laurie in CA and Jan in TX for your cups of ICE-coffee! :o) Your cups of coffee help to keep our reader-supported ad-free websites that are full of information, info-tainment and inspiration.
