Happy St. PLANTrick's Day! Hi ! Happy Weekend! Time for some miniature gardening! I hope this finds you enjoying spring wherever you are! As you can see, my spring flowers are finally blooming in my front garden, shown above, and I'm a happy
camper! I'm finally able to get in my in-ground miniature garden and do some moving around, dividing and pruning back. Although it's still f-f-freezing at night, the days are sloooowly warming up. Today's featured miniature garden, decorated for St. Patrick's Day, was planted before July, 2019 and it's
still doing well almost 4 years later with minimum care - which means just making sure it gets the right light (full sun) and regular watering. (Yes, just add water!) See below for the photos throughout the years. We know it's been a challenging winter for some areas. St. Francisco got more rainfall this winter than here in Seattle - if you can believe it. Those atmospheric rivers that are tormenting California are supposed to be for us here in the Northwest which is actually our usual weather! We have the gills to prove it! We hope everyone is safe. Do let me know if you have any questions about your miniature plants and gardens and we'll figure it out. Hit reply! Not Ready for Spring Yet? Purchase reserves the trees! YOU tell us when you would like us to send them! We'll combine any plant orders to save you postage if you have multiple orders throughout the season. (We won't know the savings until after we ship.) See all our recommended plants here, you can shop by zone or by what kind of light you have. Got a question? Hit reply! Same miniature garden as above, planted in July of 2018 - It looks like it was planted before this photo was taken as the ground cover Sedum spurium has grown-in nicely. (If I just planted it,
the ground covers wouldn't be growing over the patio.) Pot is painted terra cotta and it's about 9" wide. Now I do shelter this pot from the freezing temperatures only because it's painted
terra cotta, but all the plants are hardy to -30F and can handle any freezing. Same miniature garden in 2020 - Taken in the month of November. You can see the Sedums are getting leggy and need pinching back. Notice how the accessory, that 'Boy Holding Bowl' Birdbath, forces the Mugo to look like a shrub. The accessories tell the scale...
