The Spring holiday season is upon us! It's spring break for a lot of schools this week, and a Happy Passover to those who celebrate. The Easter bunny comes this weekend. And, rumor has it, some areas are actually having decent spring weather!

Whoa. :o)

You'll recognize today's miniature garden, I'm sure - I think it might be time to do an updated version of "A Year in the Miniature Garden." From left to right, that grass is Dwarf Lily Turf, Blue Moon Cypress, Miniature Juniper, Wooley Thyme and the rosettes in the front are Cobweb Houseleeks - aka Hens and Chicks but with little webs on them. (ALL plants except the dwarf Lily Turf are in stock.)

Grab a cuppa, I have some spring "to-do's" for you and MORE plants are in stock this week! I've topped-up some of the trees and shrubs and we're enjoying our new miniature perennials... Spring Planting and Prepping is Upon Us!

The "Must Do" - NOW, and until the warmer weather starts to stick around, is a PERFECT time to get out and WEED. I know it's so not our favorite chore - and I know it's not on the top of the "spring to-do" list but bear with me, wether your mini garden is in a pot, or in-ground. 

You see, it's a LOT easier to pull any weed now, while it's still kinda dormant, and BEFORE it starts to grow more roots and take-hold in the soil. Definitely don't let them go to seed if you see them flower! 

Divide or Not to Divide? - You can tell if a plant wants to be divided by looking at the base of the plant, (called the crown.) If the plant is coming from one place/one root, then no. If the plant is growing out of multiple places, yes. Dig it up and pull it apart, following the plant's lead. Cut any roots if you can't pull them apart but make sure each division has a nice root on it. Hit reply if you have a question about any of our plants.
