Happy Mardi Gras week! Throw me some beads! Lol!

I hope this finds you warm and cozy! We're still thinkin' spring here at Two Green Thumbs and have restocked a bunch of ground covers - aka "Miniature Garden Bedding Plants" that just came from our grower. Spring is not quite in the air yet but all our perennials, trees, shrubs and spring bulbs are saying otherwise. So I'm going along with the plants. :o)

In the Northwest? We're about to get two or three nights of unusually cold temps this week. Be sure to cover anything that is tender or any new spring growth with a blanket, an upside down cloth bag or pot at night. All our Two Green Thumbs' trees and shrubs will be fine, and most of our ground covers will be fine as well. Any Baby Tears, cover or bring next to the house or garage. (It's about a 10 to 15 degree difference by putting it next to a building.) Refer to the plant tag to know if you need to protect it or not.

Another fun way to enjoy a miniature scene: Plant it at the base of a bigger tree or shrub and make use of it's trunk. This idea is perfect for any big planter that sits next to your patio where you sit and/or entertain. It'll be the perfect eye-level for a conversation piece about how talented and creative you are with your gardening! :o)

Part of my job is getting on social media and sharing what I do. While I'm in introvert that just wants to spend time playing with gardening and miniatures, I "have to" make fun and silly videos to get noticed on this here Interweb. ICYMI - Check out the birds playing in and out of my in-ground garden. At the very end of the short video is a new feathered friend we attracted into our gardens last summer that set-up house in my neighbor's Blue Spruce across from us. What. A. Treat. 

Clockwise, going around the trunk, from the bottom left corner: Blue Star Creeper, Lawson Cypress, Lemon Cypress, another Lawson Cypress, Dwarf Mondo Grass, Coprosma (the pink leaves,) Irish Moss and Hens and Chicks are the little rosettes. The pot is plants for a full-but-cool sun spot which really means that I just need to shelter it in the high summer from the hot sun. 

Pre-order Your Trees for Spring!

It's that time of year again! For subscriber's only! 

If you would like to order plants to be delivered when YOUR weather warms up, we're starting to take orders. Purchase reserves the trees and tell us when you would like us to send them. 

This is for the trees and shrubs only, we'll open it up for the ground covers / bedding plants a bit later in the season but they are usually easy to get. 

Not all trees and shrubs are available at all times so if you see one that you like, grab it. 

The bonsai artists have found us because our plant prices are reasonable and our shipping methods are just awesome so order early! We'll of course keep the store as stocked-up as much as possible but if you see a tree you love get it while you can.

And, we'll combine any plant orders and refund the extra postage if you see something later that you like too. Note that we won't know how much to refund until we pack the box.

The decorations are temporary - printed out, then covered in clear tape. The flowers I dissected from a floral spray. The balloons are water balloons that I "blew-up" just a little, before tying them off - then I lost a few of them because they really blew away in the wind. Lol! "Laissez les bons temps rouler!"
