A Giant Idea, Miniaturized Hey and Hello ! I missed you! I hope this finds you getting ready for an enjoyable weekend, wether you're watching the Big Game or not. Well, it felt like a month, but it was only a little over two weeks that I've been out of
commission. Sometimes the Universe makes other plans for me that I didn't know I needed. So, a couple of pulled muscles later, I'm slowly getting back to it. Needless to say, a lot of couch time forces one to take stock of what's working and what's not. I have some changes coming up to this
Gazette and some re-organizing with our websites to be better able to help you out with anything you need for your hobby. BUT I wanted to send a quick hello to let you know that we're still working for you and the hobby of gardening in miniature! In this Gazette you'll find some fun and fast ways
to add some customized Super Bowl team-decor to your miniature gardens for "The Big Game." Enjoy! Oh,
and my prediction for Sunday? I predict the Chiefs or the Eagles will win this weekend. :o) Honestly - whomever I root for usually loses so, I'm just going to enjoy watching the best of the best play a good game, and the fun commercials... and the food... or course! Happy Super Bowl weekend! Need any help with anything, ? Hit reply!
Making the world a "little" better every day,
**All
links open to our own websites.** This was from last year when the Bengal Tigers made it to the Super Bowl. Fimo to the rescue! I'm not advanced in working with
polymer clay enough to tell the difference between the brands yet but I'm always calling polymer clay, "Fimo." This lil' football was a fun and quick project I made a couple of years ago. You can see my detailing is not top-notch but it gets the point across - although it looks a little deflated... <~ I actually made a real football joke! :oD This photo was from a few years ago when our Seattle Seahawks made it to the Super Bowl. The shed was already painted green and so I just needed to decorate it for the
occasion. The logos and flags are all made of paper. I found what I needed on the computer, sized it, then printed and cut them out. I covered in clear tape to make them last a little longer. Note that this idea can be applied to any and all occasions! The Bengal Tiger decor above
is made the same way. You can use this idea for birthdays, retirement parties, office party themes... The tape-coated decorations can last a few weeks outside in the miniature garden before they start to get too wet and too faded in the sun. I like to take them down after the occasion so I can
reuse them again and again - it helps to build my arsenal of decorations to play with so I can add to it each year. And I use a popsicle stick or skewer taped the back of the logo or mascot-image if I want to stake it in the garden bed, like the Bengal Tiger logos. The scene is medium scale or half-inch. The wood planter box shown at the top is 2' x 3' and it's still in use today. Some of you might recognize this garden as it's been re-incarnated for almost 20 years now...
