Happy Year of the Rabbit! Hi ! Happy Year of the Rabbit! Let the munching begin! Lol! I hope this finds you enjoying the winter wherever you are. Wether you're out in your garden puttering on the sunshine-y days in between the storms, or snuggled
inside, preparing for spring. I love that about miniature gardening, there is always something to do or play with! And, speaking of playing. I am just bursting at the seams here. It took me all week to polish it up and get it ready - so I'm a bit late getting this Gazette
to you this week. BUT - It's cause for celebration! More below... This week's garden is an indoor pot that we decorated for the Lunar New Year. You can see the two incarnations of it below - one from last year and the other before we decorated. It was a grueling process: I
had to cut back the Baby Tears, place the Japanese Arbor and - the biggest task - figuring out how many rabbits to include. Took me about 6 to 7 minutes!! I know, many are called, few are chosen, right? :o) And a final note that if you missed doing anything with your
Winter Solstice or your New Year resolutions, you have another chance to make a go of it with the Lunar New Year. Just sayin'. Practice makes perfect. Lol! Need any help with anything? Hit reply!
Make your world a "little" better every day,
**All links open to our own websites.** The same garden as above, planted last year for
Superbowl - thus the Bengal Tigers logos. From left is the Norfolk Pine, with the needles. Those shrubby plants next to it is a couple of young Coprosma plants that didn't make it, (the soil around the edge of the pot got too dry, too often.) The same garden, grown-in over the year. The Norfolk Pines can be found in most indoor plant shops and some big box stores. I like to get them when they are young - in the 4"
pots. They are quite easy to care for and don't fuss much when neglected a bit. Just don't let them dry out completely and they'll need bright, indirect light. The Baby Tears, the plant on the right, seem to take care of themselves indoors, just don't let them dry out too often, for too long as
well. I let them climb all over the chair for fun, it looks cuter in person - wasn't able to capture the cuteness in a photos. And that plant to the left of that is String of Turtles (Peperomia prostrata,) another tough little indoor plant. Both cascade down the side of the pot nicely. (We're
hoping to offer more miniature indoor plants when the weather warms up in spring.) There's a NEW Membership
Level for our Miniature Garden Society! It's been 7 years since I started the Miniature Garden Society, our online community-website, AND I FINALLY have another way for you to enjoy our Society! ~> I've built another level of membership that is only $35 per year, less than $3 per month. With this Mini Garden Club level you have access to information, how-tos, videos and much, much more! If you're not familiar with this huge, ongoing project to
establish the hobby, it's where we put everything! All our insight and research go in here to document and catalog the hobby. You see, after writing the two Gardening in Miniature books, for which I am eternally grateful to my publisher, but I was heavily edited and restrained by the number of words I
could write. I had more to share what I've learned to make it easier for the next person. So, I figured I had to put the information somewhere for you! Queue: the Miniature Garden
Society! This members-only website now boast over 250 pages full of plant info, growing insight, maintenance reminders, a new in-ground section, revised fairy garden pages, projects, videos, demos, and various other rabbit holes you can follow. We have members from all over the world and a
forum where you can connect. There is more information on Miniature Garden
Society's homepage here. There's a chart at the bottom of the page to see the different memberships to show you the difference. If you enjoy this hobby, you'll love the Miniature Garden Society - it's where craft and garden meet! <3 (This Mini Garden Gazette newsletter is FREE. The Miniature Garden Society is a separate membership-only website.) See more about this new membership level here: up on the Miniature Garden Society!
