"Everyone Hail to the Pumpkin Song!"
|
|
Hi !
I didn't think of the song until I wrote the headline and now it's stuck in my head. Lol! Well, at least is on point with the season! Just in case you didn't recognize it, it's the last line of the This is Halloween song from The Nightmare Before Christmas by the brilliant Tim Burton.
[[Another favorite quote from the same movie is from the Mayor of Halloween Town, "But Jack, I can't do it alone! I'm only an elected official!!" - another "on point" thought, huh? :o) And note this was made in 1993 - but I
digress...]]
Halloween is upon us! The light is changing, the air is getting crisper each day and thoughts of pumpkins and costumes are dancing in my head - for my dog, Kitty, not me. Lol!
We don't usually "shell-out" here in south Seattle but we've had a bunch of families move into the neighborhood so that just might change. Hope you're having fun planning a lil' somethin' to add fun this season as week - and then, please add another laugh or two! We need it!
Whatever you do make it fun,

Come and sit in the garden! That's Boo on the rocking chair. Don't they always take your warm seat at every opportunity?
Mini Garden News...
Pumpkin Shortage This Year
ICYMI - There's a nationwide pumpkin shortage this year so be sure to grab that pumpkin for Halloween when you see it. Look for the miniatures while you are at it for even more fun in your miniature garden!
Fall Planting
ICYMI x 2 - Fall is the best time to plant a garden - in-ground or in a container. The plants will get some time to adjust to their new home before winter, then they will already be "home" when they wake up next spring. (Providing you have the right container for winterizing
over - see more from the Mini Garden Guru blog here.)
Our Specialty - We Ship All Year Long...
Our specialty is miniature garden trees and shrubs (- along with the best selection of realistic garden miniatures on the planet!) And we ship all year 'round simply because we can, being based in Seattle. AND with this wonderful hobby, you CAN garden year 'round because you can
plant a container at any time of year! So, keep planting! Keep growing and keep creating! See our indoor plants that are tough here.
And Lastly, Our POV on the Latest Shipping Changes at USPS...
With all the news about the United States Postal Service slowing down just before the holidays, we thought to reassure you of how we send our orders.
So far, the slow down is with First Class Mail only. Priority Mail, which is primarily what we use to ship our plants and accessories, has not been affected yet so we not yet affected by any changes.
BUT KNOW our high-quality trees and shrubs are "good in the box" for up to 10 days, especially during the winter months when the weather is much cooler. So any delay should NOT matter - and we guarantee our plants during shipment so, again, no worries!
Last day to order for your goodies to get there before Christmas is December 15th. If you are thinking of ordering plants for a gift, get in touch. Hit reply!
DIY Fun: The tombstone was made from a broken piece of patio. I painted it black and used a silver-colored
Sharpie for the lettering. (Practice first if you're not used to "lettering!" I had to redo it because I messed it up at first. I could still redo it because I'm a bit picky - but only with more practice, that is...)
The orange frisbee between the pumpkins is from that campaign from a few weeks ago: Fellow miniaturist, Alice Zinn, made them to raise money for the animal rescue efforts from the latest hurricanes down in Florida. She raised almost $200 - that's a lot of mini frisbees! Thank you Alice! <3
The miniature pumpkin Jack-o-lanterns were not available for this year for some reason - we hope to see them next year. A good reminder to buy that miniature when you see it. It's a fickle industry.
When is a cinderblock the cutest? When it's miniaturized and painted up for Halloween. I'm just starting to experiment with this idea. We offer them primed or plain in the online store here - so you can play too!
:o) See them up in the store here.

We're shipping ALL Halloween ASAP!!
A corner of our "big" miniature garden study that we planted about 6 years ago when we started the Miniature Garden Society. It's due to come apart - the box we made for it is failing and some of the plants need more roots-space or
pruning.

ABOUT OUR SHIPPING:
We ship internationally (- but not the plants!)
All shipping costs are checked by Steve and we refund any savings promptly because of our wide range of unique inventory: we ship tiny miniatures, heavy patio materials and living plants, sometimes the automatic shipping calculator "packs" the order in multiple boxes which costs more. Steve can pack better than any online shipping calculator can - if we can save you money on
shipping, we will.
MORE ABOUT OUR SHIPPING: There is some confusion when checking out of our online store and seeing the shipping option of "Priority Mail." Priority Mail is the term the United States Post System calls their services. Anything over 1 pound
gets shipped by Priority Mail. They have done-away with Parcel Post. ~> It does not mean you get "priority" over anyone else's order. It's just what they call it. We are not able to send any order over a pound any other way. We choose to stay with USPS because they are least expensive, 98% reliable and they usually get your orders to you within 3 days at most. We've priced other services and USPS is our choice to save you money and ship your plants to you safely and quickly.
:o)
We appreciate and serve everyone regardless of race, color,
gender, politics, religion or who they love.
Viva la difference!
If we were all the same, the world would be a
very, very boring place to live.
We believe in Oneness, Kindness & Love.
