Hi !
Happy Summer! We hope this finds you safe, cool and having some summer fun!
Well, it's another summer of dealing with the weather so I hope you are able to take it in stride. I follow a Miniature Garden Society member from Gardiner, NY, on Instagram, and K is finding the silver linings in her garden in between the epic rains and the extreme heat: the flowers in her garden are putting on a fabulous show and looking just
lovely!
Meanwhile, over here in Seattle, we're rationing our water just for the garden beds and containers while letting the lawns go dormant. It's not that unusual to see for me, being from Toronto where summers are usually hot and dry, but it's the Evergreen State - things are "supposed" to EVERgreen! Hey, east coast! Send some water and we'll send some
sun!
Shipping News: We are officially caught up on everything now - the busy spring got away from us towards the end of the season with the heatwaves and holidays. Our turn-around time is now back to normal. We're focusing on shipping plants early in the week - or very late in the week - so they don't sit anywhere strange. We have the advantage of being close the the airport so our
orders can move quite fast at times...
And today, to celebrate the summer, I've put a bunch of items on sale to get you inspired - remember you can always plant a container garden at any time! And, as promised, this sale is only announced to YOU, my fellow MG! Quantities are limited! See the sale items here.
Find more, fresh trees and shrubs are now in stock from the grower this week. I finally found some more Mugo Pines too - they've been out of stock for well over a year now, I think. See them here.
Stay safe! Whatever you do make it fun - and keep it fun,
Above: From the archives, the Jervis Canada Hemlock grows into a very majestic miniature tree and is still a favorite. This photo was taken about 14 years ago. That little shed was supposed to be a boy's fort but it was often mistaken for an outhouse. Doh! Lol! Gotta love that learning curve... :o)

Already have your own mini cinderblocks? I use acrylic paint for all my miniature painting. It's water based so you can
make washes as well paint it on thick and opaque - and it's easy clean up. I recommend the Utrecht brand, available at Blick's Art Stores or online, it's a high quality acrylic paint for a reasonable price AND it's made in the USA!
Faux Bois Bench! New this week! Click to see more details in the online store. (This is the garden from the Gardening in Miniature Prop Shop book, the British chapter. I show you how to make a Miniature Garden Folly and how to age and weather a brick sheet to get that aged look you see here.)

ABOUT OUR SHIPPING:
We ship internationally (- but not the plants!)
All shipping costs are checked by Steve and we refund any savings promptly because of our wide range of unique inventory: we ship tiny miniatures, heavy patio materials and living plants, sometimes the automatic shipping calculator "packs" the order in multiple boxes which costs more. Steve can pack better than any online shipping calculator can - if we can save you money on
shipping, we will.
MORE ABOUT OUR SHIPPING: There is some confusion when checking out of our online store and seeing the shipping option of "Priority Mail." Priority Mail is the term the United States Post System calls their services. Anything over 1 pound
gets shipped by Priority Mail. They have done-away with Parcel Post. ~> It does not mean you get "priority" over anyone else's order. It's just what they call it. We are not able to send any order over a pound any other way. We choose to stay with USPS because they are least expensive, 98% reliable and they usually get your orders to you within 3 days at most. We've priced other services and USPS is our choice to save you money and ship your plants to you safely and quickly.
:o)
We appreciate and serve everyone regardless of race, color,
gender, politics, religion or who they love.
Viva la difference!
If we were all the same, the world would be a
very, very boring place to live.
We believe in Oneness, Kindness & Love.
