Hi ,
Okay, it's May. Can someone notify the weather that we are all eager for spring? As I sit here and write to you, I'm wearing several layers and a hoodie as my shorts and flip-flops patiently wait to be worn again. Needless to say, our plants don't seem to mind and everything is bursting and blooming!
We have MORE new plants and trees in stock this week - it's just how we roll. Lol! Check out our New and Back in Stock section and, honestly, if you don't see something that warms your heart, check back next week. We're always getting new plants and accessories in stock because it's the nature of the business: always working with plants and miniatures that go in and out of stock quickly. Kinda like
I'm always saying, if you see a miniature you like, grab it!
Oh, and this is happening: MOTHER'S DAY is May 10th!! There is NOTHING like the gift of miniature gardening for your mom! If she is not a gardener, I'm pret-ty sure she would LOVE a miniature garden made by YOU! Now get to it! (Let me know if you need your order expedited via email.)
If you are placing orders a day or three apart, give us a head's up so we can combine them to save on shipping. Send us an email. We've missed combining a couple of them and if we can save you postage costs, we will.
Stay safe, stay positive, stay rooted with Ma Nature and a lil' miniature gardening!
Whatever you do make it fun,
About the Garden Above: A May Day Miniature Garden. The tree on the left is Abbott's Pygmy Dwarf Hemlock, the one on the right is a Hebefolia Hemlock. Hardy to -20F.
PS - A warm miniature garden thank you to Joanne from OH and Heather from CA who “bought us coffees” this week! Yummy! Many thanks again for the love, we appreciate it! <3
Same miniature garden used above, photo taken last summer. I can't recall when I made this one right now, but it looks like it has been growing-in for a couple of years in the photo
above.
Miniature Garden Spring Cleaning Tips
For Established Miniature Gardens
WEED CAREFULLY. I'm not sure just how many times I've been whipping-along like a mad woman, destroying those weeds - only to pull a little perennial out. I know it's much easier to say than do, but weed often if you have an in-ground miniature garden. Stop and pull that weed if you see one pop up in your mini garden container when you see it and before it
reseeds itself.
CONIFER DIEBACK. Look inside your conifers for dead foliage and slough it off. It blocks the light and the air and will suffocate the lil' tree. Be gentle with the little ones so you don't break their new branches.
POLISH IT UP. Some pro garden designers use car wax to make that ceramic pot shine. It doesn't last forever but it sure does make the glaze look pretty! Be sure to clean off the dirt and dry it first. If it's wood and looks drab, consider a quick sand and paint - or stain it (water down some paint,) to get a shabby chic look. Dab the paint off with a
rag to make it Instagram worthy. (Practice on a the back of the pot.)

ABOUT OUR SHIPPING: We ship internationally (- but not the plants!) All shipping costs are checked by Steve and we refund any savings promptly because of our wide range of unique inventory: we ship tiny miniatures, heavy patio materials and living plants, sometimes the automatic shipping
calculator "packs" the order in multiple boxes which costs more. Steve can pack better than any online shipping calculator can - if we can save you money on shipping, we will.
