Hi ,
I hope this finds you and yours staying safe wherever you are. It's in times like these that we can seek solace in our hobbies, comfort ourselves with our own creativity and seek joy and grounding in the garden - and share the joy with the ones around you as well.
I just got a note from one of the Miniature Garden Society members that warmed my heart. Barb from Nebraska has a miniature garden with a tree house. She wrote:
"Thank goodness mini gardening is not canceled. One place I don’t mind being self isolated is in the garden... I’ve had many visitors to the tree house this last week. Schools out and the parents are getting the kids out of the house, going for walks. My house is often the destination. I try to get out and change out a few props every other day or so for something new."
So, in an effort to help you along with your miniature gardening, I've put all the patio materials, books and accessories on sale now. Use the code SPRINGISHERE to get 20% off your next order. (Minimum order $20, you can use it more than once, share it with anyone, expires 3/31/20)
Here's a link that will automatically do it for you: https://twogreenthumbs.com/discount/SPRINGISHERE
And, I think Barb just inspired me to so more in the front of my house, in my full-sized gardens! Lol!
Stay safe, try to stay positive by staying busy and stay creative!
Whatever you do make it fun,
ABOVE: St. Patrick's Day in the Miniature Garden! That is a Lemon Cypress (aka Monteray Cypress,) with Dwarf London Pride Saxifrage (rosettes,) Blue Star Creeper (larger leaves,) and Baby Tears. The Baby Tears is the least hardy, so that makes this garden hardy to Zone 7.
~~~
We always enjoy surprising people with our miniature Stonehenge each Equinox and Solstice - and the Spring Equinox this past week wasn't an exception! Click in here for a couple of ways to make your very own miniature Stonehenge and you'll be ready for the next Solstice!
I'm always working on more ideas for the miniature garden! I'm in love this dressmaker - I'm testing this combo out for you but I'm not happy with it yet - that reindeer moss will fade in the sun so I need to
switch with something else. Too fun! I should have some of these dressmakers in stock in a couple of weeks!
BUT WAIT. THERE'S MORE:
Going LIVE! with Miniature Gardening!
Head's up - this week, I'm continuing the series of live videos to teach anyone and everyone the basics of how to garden in miniature. I spent an hour last Saturday showing you the different types of miniature garden plants and trees, you'll find the replay up in our Two Green Thumbs' Facebook page - just scroll down a bit.
Now, some did call me funny and hilarious so I got my sister to watch it and let me know why. Here's her feedback:
"Ok I’m watching your video on Facebook ... I’m sorry but you are funny. But it’s a really good funny. You have a great sense of humour [she's Canadian] - you have to keep that up it’s awesome!! Anyone watching can truly see that you are extremely knowledgeable about these plants and that you really do enjoy
them."
I'll be making the next video shorter - hopefully - I apparently have a lot to say about this hobby! Lol!
If you have set up your alerts for either social channel apps, you'll get the alert that I'm on live. I think you can get the replays anytime providing I can press the right buttons after I'm done - which I hope to.
I don't know the exact time because I'm flying solo - so it might be around noon or 1ish! Pacific Standard Time is THREE hours behind east-coast time.
PLEASE VISIT OUR WEBSITES:
ABOUT OUR SHIPPING: We ship internationally (- but not the plants!) All shipping costs are checked by Steve and we refund any savings promptly because of our wide range of unique inventory: we ship tiny miniatures, heavy patio materials and living plants, sometimes the automatic shipping
calculator "packs" the order in multiple boxes which costs more. Steve can pack better than any online shipping calculator can - if we can save you money on shipping, we will.
