Whoa Nelly! I hope this finds you prepared for fall, wherever you are. We've got winter storm warnings over in this corner while our fellow MGs in the opposite corner of the country are apparently still enjoying extremely warm temperatures.
I bring this to light because I would like assure you that, wherever you are, your plants should be fine with these extremes as long as you chose plants that are for your zone. "Right plant for the right place" as I always preach! (A fellow MG called it harping, but I'm just glad I got through to her. Lol!) BUT of course, if you are in the heat - you'll need to keep up with the watering. Let me

ALSO note that fall is one of the best times to plant a garden - especially in-ground. As long as the soil is not frozen, you can plant. By planting now, the plants have time to adjust to their new "home" and will go dormant along with everything else whenever that time comes. In the spring, they will already be "home" and ready to grow.
AND you can plant a container garden anytime of year. The main caveat is to minimize any extreme temperature changes for your plants. For example, if you're in Montana right now in the middle of a snowstorm, you can bring your outdoor plants inside for an hour or two while you plant, (as long as they aren't frozen,) but then make sure they go back outside. AS WELL AS - I need your help. I have some really juicy miniature garden products in the hopper (in scale, authentic, weatherproof...) - I've been working on these for months. I finally had a breakthrough this week BUT I need to clear some room for them! Arg! SOOOO it's time for a SALE!!
