Hi ,

Are ya ready? I missed sending this Gazette out last week (<- Nothing was working right! Arg!) so I have "some" random things to catch you up on! Okay, it's a bunch - grab a cuppa and settle in for a bit... oD

- In today's Gazette, I have a bunch of photos to show you today. I've been sneaking-in sessions to work on these new miniature garden designs at night and I'm grateful that its so light out now.The mini gardens that you see here are now on display this weekend at the big Sorticulture Garden Art Show up in Everertt, Wa., this weekend. If you have a chance to go - do! It really is a nice show.

- For the last few weeks, I've been working for a full-sized garden designer now to make ends meet and I'm loving it. Not only am I getting over-inspired to try new ideas, (and dust off the old ones,) I'm finding new plants that we can use as well as re-igniting my love of gardening. It's been a joy! More about that later.. I wanna show off my new gardens. Lol!

- For America's Heartland - you are in our thoughts and prayers each and every day. Hope you and yours are safe from the flooding and the tornadoes. We are watching and seeing what you are going through and we are with you. <3 <3 <3

- And, we have MORE new plants and trees this week - you must check out the new Miniature Zinnias. Waaaaay too CUTE!

- It's been a super-busy spring this year - if we've missed serving you, just let us know. Just hit the reply...

- Reminder: Father's Day is June 16th! What a better way to celebrate than building your own world together? THIS is where these updated miniature garden designs can really help - I bet your Dad will love these more-contemporary ideas!

- A special shout-out to Treina who always takes the time to email us with heartfelt notes. Here is her latest email which simply reminds us of why we do what we do: "You guys are the best packer shippers in the business. My plants couldn't look any better if id picked them up at your store in person. Blooms beautifully smiling. Thank you so much for the obvious consideration you put into your work. -Treina" TYTYTY Treina! <3

- Our "experiment" with full-sized "mini" plants will resume next week - AND you probably know the results BUT you might like these temporary arrangements of you are a fairy gardener. Stay tuned!

Two Green Thumbs Living Miniature Garden Center

Same garden as above. I've been wanting to try these miniature breeze blocks from MiniMaterials.com since I saw they and honestly, they are cuter in person! I thought it was a perfect start to a contemporary garden design. Notice there is no patio? I know right? So not like me! Lol! The grassy plants is the Dwarf Mondo Grass that I pulled apart. The mound of green in front of the wall are Corsican Mint (Baby Tears also work.) I found that teenie tiny spruce at a my local botanical garden greenhouse here in Seattle.

(If you do purchase from MiniMaterials.com - tell them I sent ya so they owe me a beer. :o) They have MORE miniature building materials that are perfect for our miniature gardening too. We heart these guys!)

A Miniature Bog Garden. I've been wanting to make my own gabion walls (see below) for almost forever! After seeing more of them in full-sized gardens at my new "day job" I finally was pushed to do it. The plants in this garden love moist soil so I thought it the perfect combination. More info on the plants to come... I'm trying to source them for us! :)

The deck is one of our old-style cedar decks that I used in the America chapter of my second book, Gardening in Miniature Prop Shop.

A Fairy Garden for the fairy gardeners out there! I have a canal going right through the middle of the trug. This garden shows better in person - you can see how using all the same-sized foliage makes the garden less-defined and a little wild-looking - perfect for the fairies though!

The canal is a version of my Lakeside Miniature Garden in my first Gardening in Miniature book. I used larger rocks in the bottom of it do hold the side apart.

Miniature Zinnias - Oh yeah... these are sold as basket stuffers but they are perfect for our use the miniature garden. LONG BLOOMING! And you don't have to dead head them to keep them blooming either. Awesome! They are an annual up here in the PNW so depending upon where you live, they might not come back next spring BUT they'll bloom until fall for you... <3

Miniature Elephant Planter - I'm not sure if they'll be making this eclectic lil' gem, it's from one of our main suppliers that retired a couple of years ago. I would grab this if you like it... It's made of resin, sun-proof and freeze-proof.

Tiny Terracotta Pots - The real deal - in three sizes for your miniature garden pleasure!

Green Carpet - Hardy, tough and tiny! A tough green mat of tiny foliage that you can use as a wee shrub in your miniature garden.

Dwarf Wisteria - Uh yep! It's really a miniature Wisteria! It doesn't flower but the foliage is super-pretty! I've been growing one for years and if it can tolerate my busy lifestyle... Lol! A joy to grow!

The latest challenge - designing a miniature garden with more "depth and feeling!" Lol! I've been playing with planting more, fuller garden beds this spring. I'll let you know how they work out either way. It was fun to really throw a lot of plants in this scene, but HOW they grow in will be the true test. Stay tuned!
