Hi ,
Steve and I would like to wish you a Happy Mother's Day!
Without you, Mom, we would still be in diapers. :o)
The miniature garden shown above is the same garden that I used in the British chapter of my second book, Gardening in Miniature Prop Shop. When the Dwarf Mondo Grass died after our snowy winter here in Seattle, it left room on the mini garden bed for more plants. So for this demonstration, I added very young annual starts throughout the garden bed in among the Miniature Daisies. See the start of
this lesson/demo below.
Remember, whatever you do, make it fun,
|
All the flowers shown in this garden are baby annuals. I found the smallest starts that are available right now at your local garden center. The "big" white flowers in the front are Begonias (I think they are the regular Begonia
Rex.) The tiniest flowers, the shades of purple, are different colors of Alyssum. And the tall white flowers in the back are Verbena. The "bush" in the upper right corner is variegated Lemon Thyme.
ALL of these annuals and the herb will want to grow at least 3 times their size pret-ty quickly. This is going to be a fun experiment!
(No, we don't carry these flowering annuals, this was planted as a demonstration garden to show you what happens when you plant full-sized plants in a miniature garden.)
BUT we do have some really awesome, true miniature garden trees, shrubs and plants that are perfect for ANY kind of miniature garden - See our Plants for Sun Section here. And our Plants for Shade section here.
Need to elevate your miniature garden hobby this spring and summer? Look no further. This book walks you through all kinds of project - AND teach you skills and techniques that you can use for
your other projects - large and small. We have this available as a set with shipping included - ICYMI - Gardening in Miniature Book
Set - AND it makes a PERFECT gift for the miniature gardener, serious fairy gardener, or garden railroader!
Stay tuned for more next week! Thank you for reading!

OUR WEBSITES:
ABOUT OUR SHIPPING: We ship internationally (- but not the plants!) All shipping costs are checked by Steve and we refund any savings promptly because of our wide range of unique inventory: we ship tiny miniatures, heavy patio materials and living plants, sometimes the automatic shipping
calculator "packs" the order in multiple boxes which costs more. Steve can pack better than any online shipping calculator can - if we can save you money on shipping, we will.
