Holding on for Spring!

**Photos may take a moment to load**

Hi ,

Yep! We're almost to spring. I know, I know, just don't look out the window. Okay? Lol! But really, the daylight savings changes back in 2 weeks! That's where I'm coming from. I love to watch how the sun sets later and later these days - it's almost at 6pm. Now if only the weather would cooperate.

We're having a record-setting freeze here in Seattle this week. Thankfully most of our trees and plants are hardy! I think the only really tender plant that we carry is the Baby Tears and - yes - I forgot a whole tray of them outside and they all turned black! Ugh. So I pulled them inside and now I just have to wait until the weather warms up to see if they are still alive. I'm looking for some new green growth to pop through the black leaves and that's how I'll know they will come back.

Can you tell we're still celebrating
our NEW store?

Okay now, everyone keep thinking spring. I think we've paid our winter dues and we're in for a spectacular summer! Time to start planning your miniature garden escapades - and remember they make great gifts, raffle prizes and conversation pieces!

Whatever you do, make it fun,

ABOVE: The Gardening in Miniature Cover Girl under snow yesterday. It's hardier than I am. Lol!

An blast from the past! The Ancient Urn on Pedestal is back in stock. It has pretty floral detailing up and down the pedestal. It's staked here at our studios to stay put in the soil, (the stake can be removed.) Sturdy, weatherproof and won't fade in the sun. See it here.

New and Back in Stock:

A Tiny Garden Kit - Something to tie you over to spring! Too cute! Comes with soil and Sedum cuttings - and a wee saucer too.

Miniature Sundial - A classic for any garden! This one is metal and will last forever! Point it toward the north so you can tell the time. :o)

Tiny Campania Planter - A smaller, darling version of the bigger ones that we used to carry but are now discontinued apparently.

English Boxwood - A favorite! Add light with an indoor grow-bulb if you are growing on indoors. A fun "miniature" tree!

Small Miniature Garden Kit - Okay, this one is bigger and has a tree in it. Lol! Just a few left...

Do Fairy House Kits sell well?? Getting down to business in the Miniature Garden Society now that our online store is up and running smoothly! Above, is one of our many tests throughout the years on how to sell and what to sell it where - a new Business of Miniature Gardening section inside the Society to help you make some money from your favorite hobby!

- New way to interact! I'm adding the ability to comment on every page in the site. This way, if you come across one of my pages that don't address your particular question, you can ask right on that page. This way it will allow fellow members to add their experience and insight to the page too, instead of going to the forum and back.

- Adding more photos of plants IN miniature gardens. I'm slowly adding photos of how the miniature garden plants look and grow-in, in a miniature garden instead of just seeing the plant in a pot. You'll get a much better idea on how it will look so you can design and plan your miniature gardens with confidence and ease.

- The need for speed... I'm also gradually learning how to speed up the site so the pages will load faster for all of us. It's image-rich and full of photos but you should notice a considerable, faster change now.

You can see the growth on the Cover Girl Miniature Garden compared to the other gardens shown above. This photo was taken in late 2011 for the cover of the book. I didn't replace the ground covers just so you can see how the plants grow in.
