Fellow MG Suzanne and her son came to see me talk! What a treat! I met them at the Philadelphia Miniaturia Show last November. Thanks for coming to see me, Suzanne! It was really fun to see you and your son again! <3

OUTDOOR SUN CHART
Gardening can sometimes sound so arbitrary. What
works for one area may not work in another garden on the other side of the same city. One of the main things to consider about pushing "part sun" or "part shade" plants into a spot with more sun, is the level of dampness in the soil.
A good example are the Canada Hemlocks. They are listed as part sun/part shade but in several spots in my garden - and in my containers - I have them in full sun (not hot sun,) and they are happy because I keep the soil
damp.
This may sound confusing so hit the reply and let me know your questions!
Part shade - is 2 to 4 hours of cool
sun.
Full shade - is less than 2 hours of sun.
Dappled shade - is called light shade or part shade.
Part sun - is 4 to 6 hours of sun.
Full sun - is 6 or more hours of sun.
"Cool
sun" - is morning sun before 11am or after 3pm, or in the winter.
"Hot sun" - is from about 2pm to 7pm in the summertime.
