Sharing Fun & Laughs

**Photos may take a moment to load**

Hi ,

If you come and see one of my gigs this season, you'll not only have a few laughs but I'll show you some dance moves too. Lol! Steve took this shot of me in action at the Northwest Flower and Garden Show yesterday. Thank you to those who came out to see me! <3 It was fun to meet you! More details below if you missed it...

My next gig is at our biggest and best-est flower show in the US, the Philadelphia Flower Show, I'm on the second Saturday, April 10th at 2pm. If you come, be sure to introduce yourself, I'd love to meet you!

Have you seen your NEW store yet?

Off to decompress in the garden this afternoon, the sun is shining! Hope you have a chance to get some garden therapy this weekend too! :o)

Whatever you do, make it fun,

Awww! This lovely woman, Lori, from California, came all the way to Seattle to see me! I love her. I think I'm still blushing in the photo. Lol! Meeting fellow MGs on the book tours is the highlight! It was SO wonderful to meet Lori and her husband, David too! <3 (Hi Lori! Hi David! Lol! :o)

What Was Covered Yesterday
at the Show:

The demonstration and talk tour this season is all about the new Gardening in Miniature Prop Shop book.  I showed our fellow MGs 5 projects out of the 37 that are in the book in the space of an hour.

The main feedback that I get from these demos is how EASY and DO-ABLE everything I teach is - they just have to see me do it! I'm always reminding my audience that I don't like anything fussy, nor high-maintenance, so you won't find me sharing anything that is!

Here are the projects from the book that we covered:

How to use the Mini Patio Mix Kit for more than just patios and pathways! You can make miniature garden follies from the British Chapter & the miniature light posts from July 4th chapter.

Aging techniques from the America chapter, I showed how easy it was to age an Adirondack chair. How I used the same techniques to age a fountain for the Spanish chapter. And then showed how you can up-cycle or re-cycle your garden miniatures to not only save money, but to keep them out of the landfill - as shown in the fairy garden chapter.

The hour went by too fast! Wish I could have stayed for longer!

If you have a chance, come and see me. I have more dates below too...

Huh! Wha...? Don't do it! Whenever I see this kind of "stuff," it just tightens my jaw. The tiny box includes a wee terrarium, 5 tiny cacti seeds and a tiny thing of seed-starting-soil. There were a couple of different kits like this too. Um. It'll never work this way, cacti needs a completely different set-up to start from seed. The only upside to this hack is that you'll get a cute little glass bowl to play with. Lol! Remember that cute sells well but not everything cute works.

New and Back in Stock:

Adirondack Chair - A classic! The same one we customized in the Prop Shop book and in our demos!

Ancient Urn on Pedestal - We haven't had these in years but it's still a classic! Put some small sedum cuttings in it, or water for the mini birds but it looks great by itself too. See it with a gazing ball here.

Silver Fox Willow - A true-dwarf willow tree! The ones in stock now are a even smaller than the ones shown in these photos!

Silver Spire Dwarf English Yew! - I LOVE it when a favorite landscape tree is available as a dwarf of mini! This one is new this season. Yummy!

- A fun and quick Valentine's Day Garden Art Idea, you might just have the ingredients already on hand too!  (Idea Factory > Projects to Make > Make Miniature Yard Art)

- Question from a new member: "Do you have to do a community outreach program to join?" NO! It's completely voluntary! Your support helps us to do different outreach programs, to learn the ropes on how different institutions work for this idea, and to learn what makes a great, low-maintenance but fun "big" miniature garden for all. (Whew! Say that 3 times fast. Lol!)

BUT do let us know if you want to do an outreach with your local senior residence, children's hospital or veteran home. If you have any ideas, we would love to help if we can in any way.
