Hi ,
I hope this finds
you planning, dreaming and thinking about your miniature gardening coming up this spring. You know I am. Work? Who needs work when there is miniature gardening to be done?! Sigh. "They" just don't understand, do they? Lol! If only we could be one of the ones to get paid to play - professional sports and Hollywood pays their players to play... :o)
But hey, take it from me who has built a business around my hobby, it wouldn't be a fun pastime if I had to do it all the time, now would it?
Thankfully I STILL get excited when a block of time comes up where I can disappear into my studio and putter the hours away...
New Store Update: So the NEW online store is currently under construction and, I must say, it won't even take half as long as the other one did. In fact, it should be
ready in a couple of weeks AND I know you'll like this one much better. It's prettier, better, faster, stronger and well, nicer! Thanks again for your patience with my technology skills.
Following Up - Last week I
asked the name of the "fussy houseplant" and it was called Mini Snowbush, Hawaiian Snowbush, or Breynia nivosa. Others have had trouble keeping it alive but one fellow miniature gardener grows them successfully in her garden in California. Another MG, Sarah, mentioned, "They get root bound quickly, which results in too little water and then rot when you water them again. It happens so easily!" Sarah also mentioned that it would be a better terrarium plant
because you can keep the soil evenly damp, and protect it from cold drafts - which I figured what happened to mine. Interesting and insightful, thank you fellow MGs! <3
Grab a cuppa - there is more fun to see in this Mini Garden Gazette...
Whatever you do, make it fun,

MORE FUN WITH MINIATURES
Here are a few miniature-things that I've been distracting myself with while waiting for the spring that I thought you would enjoy too.
The Miniaturist Movie on BBC:
I wasn't sure I would be able to watch this! BBC has created a mini series called 'The Miniaturist" and it appears to be available
online! Yes! Here is the link, the first two episodes are available now - but watch the time left to watch them. The first episode is only up for another 12 days so be sure to hop on it when
you can. I have no idea if it's good or not, but it looks like a high quality production - and I can't wait to see the miniatures!
The Wonder of Miniatures Blog
If you haven't met Dr. K., it is time. Lol! Fellow miniature gardener, Louise Krasneiwicz, has shifted her focus to documenting miniature history and miniatures in modern times. Check out her work so far, it's a very
interesting and inspiring read here.
Downsizing ~ The Movie
Steve and I have recently be paying attention to the "rotten tomato
rating" for movies and, well, the new Downsizing movie about people shrinking themselves for a better life - only got a 51% tomato rating. I haven't seen it yet - have you? Is it worth going to the theater for? Let me know what you think and hit reply. :o) I'll share your feedback next week!
Let's Meet! Check out my book tour schedule below and let's meet! I love putting a face to your name! This photo above was taken at the Philadelphia Flower Show in 2015, by
fellow miniature gardener, Dr. K.
