Hi ,
Halloween is upon us! I'm not sure where October went, but if you see it can you send it back to me? I missed it. Lol! Hope
your busy planning a bit of Halloween fun in your miniature gardens. It's fun watching the kids react to the gardens when they come trick or treating!
I'm both excited and nervous for the Philadelphia Miniaturia Show next week. While I am a professional miniaturist, I haven't been to this show before and I'll be in the same room with a number of stellar miniaturists who are well-known throughout the world for their art. Whenever I do miniature show here in Seattle, I have my plants and gardens to back me up (or hide behind? Lol!) but I can't drag many plants with me, and I definitely can't bring any
gardens with me. (I tried, they get too shook-up.) But I'm excited to see my east-coast miniature friends again! If you're in the area, I hope to see you too!
NOTE that I'm doing TWO gigs while I'm there. I'll be at the Marlton, NJ, Plow and Hearth Store on Thursday night, Nov. 2nd from 4pm to 7pm. It's an ongoing demo so come anytime or come for the whole time! I'll be taking a page from my Gardening in Miniature Prop Shop book's Fairy Haven chapter, but decorating it for Christmas instead. They are raffling it off afterward so you could be the lucky winner! This will be fun!
And thank you for your support! We are an independent business and as the online space gets more crowded with the big box stores shouting the loudest during this time of year, know that you can always get personable and friendly service from Steve and I, expert shipping
methods and we welcome your feedback and input too - via phone or email, anytime - these things Amazon simply can't do. Please shop independent!
Remember, whatever you do, make it fun,
ABOVE: Bird's eye view of the miniature garden makes me feel like the Jolly Green Giant. Look, Ma! I'm a drone! Lol! :o)
This week's video letter - Renovating our Halloween garden that was used for the Gardening in Miniature Prop Shop book after a very dry summer. The trees were transplanted
from another miniature garden in/around 2010-2011 so this garden has been together for about 6 years or so. You can see how easy they are to maintain.
A Mini Pause in the Program
I will, however, be posting and sharing whenever I can on our social media channels if you would like to follow me for the updates - you don't have to join Instagram or Twitter to see my streams, but I think you have to join
Facebook to see our pages.
