 Mini Garden Gazette
Still Learning, Still Growing...

**Photos may take a moment to load**

Hi ,

While our thoughts and all of our prayers are focused on Florida,Texas and on the wildfires here in the PNW, I wouldn't be doing my job if I didn't try to make you at least smile and Steve and I sincerely hope you and yours are safe.

ICYMI - We had reason to celebrate last weekend! We are now over 14,000 followers on Facebook. Yay us! Lol! It's the largest "gathering" of miniature gardeners EVER! Give yourself a pat on the back again for being a first-responder considering there are over 1 billion people on Facebook alone and just think how many haven't heard of miniature gardening yet? YOU could be the first one to show people this wonderful hobby!

And another big thank you to all who wrote in to say how much they enjoyed the first video letter!

And an apology as this comes to you late - there was another learning curve when taping my video-letter and I had to figure out how to tape it while living under a runway in Seattle - aka "Jet City." When we bought the house, this runway was used only for emergency, now they use it constantly. If you count the number of edits in the video, you'll see that 3 planes passed in the 4 minutes that I'm talking. Ugh. But I think it works okay.

Thank you for being our subscriber!

ABOVE - Our Facebook post celebrating over 14,000 miniature gardeners all in one virtual spot! Love it!

Our First Video Letter!
- Indoor vs. Outdoor Trees -

Yay!

Links from the items in the video:

The Cypresses in the video are also called (I missed a couple in the video)
- Wilma Cypress
- Monteray Cypress
- Wilma Monteray Cypress
- Goldcrest Cypress
- Wilma Goldcrest Cypress
- Lemon Cypress

We can call them Wilma Monteray Goldcrest Lemon Cypress if you like. Lol!

But I do believe the proper botanical name is Cupressus macrocarpa 'Wilma' - what the grower has on the tag. I'll rely on their research since they are the ones growing them. :o)

This is why you always return to the botanical names of the plants because the common names can be plentiful at times - and anyone can create one for marketing reasons.

A fun project from the Gardening in Miniature Prop Shop book that can be adapted for different occasions with a little imagination. It's the Birthday chapter in the Make It Special section. See more of the book up on Amazon here. Get your autographed copy from us, here in our online store.
