 Mini Garden Gazette
Creative, Crafty, Summertime Fun

**Photos may take a moment to load**

Hi ,

Well, it's been a weird week for me. On top of our record-breaking record of NO RAIN for over 53 days - or is it 54 today? - I hurt my backside and can't sit down for long. Lol! (Yeah, don't ask, I do know better.) So, I'm standing at my "stand-up desk" typing this which really is a cardboard file box on my desktop with my keyboard and mouse on top of it. Fancy! We do what we can, don't we? :o)

So with the heat of the summer upon me, I have brought out another miniature garden from the new Gardening in Miniature Prop Shop book - this is the Spanish garden shown above! I'll tell you a bit more about it below!

We've had some emails this week with planting/growing questions so I've collected our Miniature Gardening 101 Series linked here for you to review. The biggest issue was "right plant in the right place" even if you want to bring your garden indoors, or if you are growing in a tropical area. Plants level the playing field and they don't care who you are, they'll always have an ideal climate for them to grow in and no, you can't fool Mother Nature. More on this below.

We have some new plants and accessories this week to show you! They are linked below for your convenience. And a head's up reminder about miniature accessories too.

Remember that you spread more love by simply doing what you love to do.

Whatever you do, make it fun,

ABOVE: This is the same Spanish-Themed Miniature Garden that is shown in the Gardening in Miniature Prop Shop book. It's was planted in 2015 so it's about 2 1/2" years old now.

~~~~~~~~
Lion Wall Fountains are back in stock this week.SOLD OUT. Incredibly detailed and.... pssst... don't tell anyone .... it's still at last year's price!! See it here. If you miss this run, I "might" be able to get more so shoot me an email if you find it sold out by the time you read this.
The Times They Are A Changin'
If you've been following me for awhile, you've probably heard me say this before: The time to buy that miniature accessory that you are in love with is right now!
We are consistently finding out the hard way that some of our miniature garden accessories have suddenly been discontinued. We can't get answers if they are going to be made again so here is your head's up - again.
Please know that I've missed some of the delightful miniatures as well, thinking it was a bottomless supply. I put off adding some of the cutest miniatures that we've carried to my own collection only to never find them again.
Note that if they do appear again, the price will be much higher - we're still finding out that some of our old retail prices are now the new wholesale price.
~~~~~~~~
The Spanish Garden in the Gardening in Miniature Prop Shop book - this photo was taken in the fall of 2015 - you can tell by the color of the leaves of the Tequila Sunrise Coprosma "tree." The Coprosma looks the same size today because I've trimmed it back to stay in proportion to the pot and the rest of the garden.

Now you can compare the two photos - the one above is from the Prop Shop Booktaken in 2015. The one below was taken today, August 11, 2017. You can see how the ground covers have  grown up around the fountain.

For every project in the
Prop Shop Book, I have more plant suggestions than what is shown in the photos so you can have more choices for your themed garden. The projects in this chapter are how to design a miniature mosaic patio and how to aged accessories.
