Happy Labour Day Weekend!

**Photos may take a moment to load**

Hi ,

You know I still get that "back-to-school" dreaded feeling every labour day weekend. Lol! I didn't care for learning until I got out of school really and I never had kids to re-program the seasonal feeling in my brain. I need to remember that it's not the end of summer for us adults yet! In fact, it's time to get back to a comfortable schedule and get some ideas out there and DONE. Remember that September and October can produce some glorious sunny days in the garden too.

Fall is the best time to plant an in-ground garden because the newly-planted trees and plants have all season to get situated before the winter starts. When spring comes around they are already "home" and will begin to bud and flush-out their lovely spring growth. It takes less to maintain the plants next summer with this method too, because the plant's roots will have already started to find their own source of food.

Remember you can plant a miniature garden in a container anytime you feel like it.

Happy Long Weekend!

Whatever you do, make it fun,

PHOTO ABOVE: Our "Garden Shed" garden is still alive and well. I wanted to show you the little baby 2" mugo pines that have been growing there for about 3 years now. They are about 2" taller. Lol! That bench is less than 1 1/2" tall.
How cute is this? This is the tiny NEW Primo Arborvitae from our huge grower down in Oregon. Ain't it sweet? And ain't it even sweeter that we have someone growing these charming trees nice and small for our miniature gardens? Are we lucky or what? Our 2 1/4"-potted trees are only available in sets for shipping reasons only. They simply can't be shipped safely and economically by themselves. See them here, up in our New and Back in Stock Section here

 ICYMI
Mini Garden Guru Blog:

We had some setbacks this week in getting a new website up and running, and we were not able to get a new blog out.

Here instead is our one of our most popular blog series:

This Just Dandy Hinoki Cypress was almost gone when I planted it in this big box. It was really spindly and leggy and now it's happy and looks like a shrub again.

With a little care, attention, and a lot of patience - and if it's still alive - your wee tree can be nurtured back to health. Gently scratch a tiny bit of bark off any stem you think is dead,  if the wood underneath the bark is green, it's alive. If it's gray and hard, it's dead and you can trim of that branch. Do this on an inconspicuous part of the branch so you can't see it from the front-view of your garden.
