Dog Daze of Summah!

**Photos may take a moment to load**

Hi ,

Happy Dog Daze of Summah! We hope you are enjoying the lazy, hazy, August and having fun. The heat dome has found us here in the PNW. Ugh. I'm not good in the heat - that's one of the reasons I fell in love with Seattle.  Time for some indoor mini-making! ;o)

Happy Olympics! Here is another miniaturist (kinda) on Etsy that sells a couple of styles of miniature pottery, CumbucaChic. Got a Brazilian miniaturist to share? Email us at info@TwoGreenThumbs.com and send us a link to their website or social media page - or a photo or two!

And thank you for being our subscriber! We're America's First and Favorite Miniature Garden Center, since 2001.

Whatever you do, make it fun,

Above: A blast from the past. A miniature garden in a miniature barbecue with smaller miniature garden in an even more miniature barbecue. Yes, I know. ;o)

I created my own Olympic challenge: Miniature Olympic Rings to hang in the miniature garden. Training is rigorous and it's still a work in progress. I hope the judges are with me on this one. We'll see next Friday if I make the finals. Lol!

Oooh, That August Weather!

If you are in an area with that hot summer heat, (who isn't?) remember to keep up on the watering. I know it starts to get really tedious at this time of year, but here are a couple of quick points to help you through the last weeks of the heat:

1. Shade it: Put up a canopy or large umbrella over your miniature garden or your patio. Weigh the canopy or umbrella pole down by tying it to a couple of cinderblocks, sand bags or bigger pots. Use bungie cords instead of rope to tie them with. Bungie cords are much easier to use, you can hook the ends easily together, and they don't scratch the finish of whatever you are tying them to.

2. Move it: Move the pot into the shade for the rest of the summer. If your plants are starting to suffer, they will thank you. A couple of weeks in the shade won't hurt a full-sun pot, just be sure to move it back into the sun next month, when the weather cools down. Use a two-wheeled dolly to scoop it up or use sheets of cardboard to push it along the ground if it's big. Use leverage, not your back.

If you feed them, they will come. A Fancy Miniature Bird Feeder, a replica of our old wooden one now available in miniature. It comes pre-drilled and includes a stake, just in case you want to plant it in your garden bed. That's just how we roll...  See it here.

Another Mini Set of our small trees are now available! This set is hardy to -20F and great for a sunny spot. Use these baby conifers in a container and shelter them from extremes while they are still young. A darling set. See them here.

A rustic patio set that has seen better days but, hey, who's counting? ';o) It's that time of year when we have some time to fill up our handmade Etsy store! We place the one-of-a-kind items and sets, natural and miniature supplies, and anything weird and wonderful there. Visit our Etsy store here.
