Happy Arbor Day!
**Photos may take a moment to load**

Hi ,

Welcome new subscribers! (If you don't feel that this weekly newsletter is for you, please scroll to the bottom and use the unsubscribe button. This is not spam because you signed up AND you confirmed it through your email.)

It's Arbor Day! Don't just sit there, plant something! Lol!

With May Day upon us, here is hoping that those massive storms will subside so we all can get out for some soul-fulfilling gardening! Thankfully, we can miniature garden anytime and anywhere.

Mom's day is coming up next week. We have you covered if you're out of ideas or time or both! We can look up previous orders too so you don't have to worry about getting Mom something she's already got. ;o)

Thank you all who contributed deer feedback! We have some great info below!

If you are shy of ordering online, just use the website as a catalog and call in your order ~> Steve is here Monday to Friday, 10am to 4pm, west-coast time. 206-352-0494. Leave a message if we miss you - there are only the two of us here in this big little company that could.

Whatever you do, make it fun,

Troubleshooting for Deer and Rabbits

What we found out from our collective knowledge base because we have the best subscribers!

Apparently the same rules apply for rabbits.

Deer stay away from any poisonous plants, prickly plants and strong-scented plants, like herbs.

[From last week.]Plant red-twig dogwood around the perimeter, deer love them and will fill-up on them, leaving your other plants alone. The dogwood shrub can handle the constant pruning, apparently.

Hanging CDs, twirly garden art or flags to flap in the breeze.

Irish Spring soap shavings – it’s the strong scent again. Replace shavings after a couple of rainfalls. Some hang them in nylon stockings around the perimeter of the garden.

Plants that deer and rabbit won't much on:

Trees:

Cedar
Crape Myrtles
Cypress
Dwarf Alberta Spruce
Elms
Hollies (Ilex crenata unconfirmed)
Junipers
Pines
Willows

Shrubs

Arborvitae
Barberries
Boxwood
Cotoneaster
Euonymus

Perennials

Ajuga
Astilbes
Ferns – all
Grasses, ornamental (Mondo grass not confirmed yet)
Moss
Sedums
Thymes

(Thank you, Karen! :o)
