Mini Garden Gazette
Is it a Happy Spring YET?
**Photos may take a moment to load**

Hi ,

It's been a weird week here at Two Green Thumbs but it always is when I have to take my attention away from doing what I love to do - to finalize my taxes. Got love them, it does make our world go 'round, but why so complicated? We hope your tax season has been simplified and accounted for!

To match the weird week, here is a kitchen-sink newsletter. Lol! Yes, we have flowers turning to berries, a garden rant on how to be a better gardeners, how to cook in miniature and some new plants and accessories that are now in the store!

As always, thank you for being a subscriber!

Whatever you do, make it fun, (includes doing the taxes too. Lol!)

The Rock Garden Holly offers year-round interest with the flowers in spring, the green berries in summer that turn red by the fall and for winter - it's a little Holly tree! Lol!

A Very Fun Tangent: Miniature Cooking (!)
Going Viral on Facebook

In case you are not on Facebook, here is something that is currently rocking the miniature world: step-by-step miniature cooking videos from Korea! Believe it or not!

They are absolutely hilarious as everything is real and done in miniature. They use miniature knives and cooking utensils all the way through too.  Yessir, grab that tea-light candle and roast yourself some tiny chicken tonight!

I think it's done in about one sixth scale (the Rement, Barbie, GI Joe scale) and it appears that you can eat it after you're done too but I'm not sure I would. LOL! There is one on how to make your own tiny Krispie Kreme box of donuts, ramen noodles, Korean rolls, among the other miniature how-to videos. Too funny! See their YouTube page here and look for the cooking ones.

Above: A dwarf Jean Iseli Miniature Hemlock with miniature Hostas. The tiny flowers are weeds - I pulled them after the photo was taken. This garden is about 6 years old.

The Complaint Department

Recently we've had several complaints about our minimum $20 dollars purchase in our online store. But what has really happened is that Steve, my husband, was wearing thin on filling the tiny $2 miniature orders that would cost him $5 to ship when there are many plant orders to fill. They were driving him a bit nutty - and that's why we created our garden supply kits.

Steve is, quite frankly, the best plant packer in the nation in comparing his work with other popular mail-order nurseries, so I needed to keep him happy. To train a new person to do what he does would take years. The $20 minimum was implemented to keep him on staff and to keep you receiving your plants and your garden miniatures in excellent shape.

However, there are no minimums in our Etsy store,

You can get the exclusive PDF download instantly,

ICYMI: GENTLE REMINDER
ABOUT POTTING SOIL:

Our plants do not need the fortified soil with added fertilizers like Miracle-Gro Soil. The unnecessary fertilizers burn the plant's roots. Avoid anything with water-retaining polymers too, it doesn't let the soil dry out enough in between watering sessions and gradually smothers the roots. Roots need air, which is why you don't "pack" the soil in tightly around the rootball when you plant. If you must use this type of soil, use the high-fertilizing soil for your heavy-feeders, like annuals and vegetables.

Choose an organic potting soil for your containers. Add compost instead of topsoil to your garden beds. There is enough nutrients in any fresh soil to last two years for our plants.
