Happy Valentines Day!
**Photos may take a moment to load**

Hi ,

Happy month 'o' LOVE!! Miniature gardening gives us something to love all year 'round but it's especially fun in the winter months because you can still do something besides just plan for spring.

Even if you don't have room for the plant-part in your house, you can work on your accessories while you wait for the weather to warm up. In this issue, I have some fast and fun Valentines Day decorations for you to whip together before Sunday.

And, yes I did. I missed last week. Read on to find out why.

Whatever you do, make it fun,

 A Quick Valentine How-To

Steve gave me this birthday card a couple of years ago and it was so pretty, with the colorful flowers dotted with rhinestones, I couldn't throw it out. (Here is is up on the Papyrus website.) I have a strong feeling you know what I mean.

Well I finally, figured out how to reuse them and made the flower garden stakes and the hanging hearts from that fancy card.

- Peel the die-cut flowers off the card.
- Glued them on to the staked dowels.
- Cut the hearts from the rest of the card. Make two of each heart.
- Glue a piece of red embroidery thread between the hearts.
- Glue the hearts on both ends of the string.

More Tips:

- I just draped it over the tree's branches, because I'm not going to keep it there for very long.

- I played with the paper too long when it was wet, and I cracked the colored pattern by working it too much.

- Coat everything, the paper and the dowel with Modge Podge for Outdoors to protect it from the rain and moisture.

- Take out after Valentines Day, make sure they are dry before storing them and they will last for years.

- If you a generic card, like this one as opposed to red hearts, they can be used to decorate for other occasions.

Balancing the Scales

You may have noticed you didn't receive a Mini Garden Gazette last week. I apologize! Being master of my own business finally caught up with me.

The absolute truth: my cup was empty, so the saying goes. After the last struggle with submitting the manuscript for the book last week, I couldn't think of another word to write. Lol! Yes, yes, I know. Me? Speechless? Well, YES!

And, you know I don't just send stuff out without at least some strong entertainment value so rather than waste your time with fluff, I took a break last week.

I know the global economy does not rest on the Mini Garden Gazette but I still didn't like dropping the ball...

Thank you for being our subscriber,
we really appreciate you!

It Happens Every Year...

Winter.

Lol! Kidding!

No, it really happens every year. Every fall I walk around the house and garden and collect the terra cotta pots, the porcelain and anything I think of that can't freeze - and inevitably, there is always something I miss.

This year it was my little bathtub. Awwwww! I'll need to replace it. Let me know if you want one to plant up too, email me here.
