Mini Garden Gazette It's Just Like Christmas! **Photos may take a moment to load** |
|
Hi ,
It's like Christmas here this week with all the new trees and plants coming from Oregon! It's lovely to see all the little babies, fresh from the nursery! ;o) Some of them are so tiny, they
are hard to part with. I'm like a kid in a candy store, "One for you, two for me, one for you, two for... " Lol!
If you are in an area that is still frozen and want trees, see below for a solution!
I almost forgot about the Seattle Dollhouse Miniature Show that is on this weekend! Apologies that I forgot to remind you, it crept up on me. I'll be there on Sunday shopping for miniatures!
Keep thinking spring!
Whatever you do, make it fun,

Hinoki Cypress
Before and after! The Elf Dwarf Spruce is an easy grower that develops a wonderful trunk after several years. Read on for more on how long it will take to get this wonderful tree looking like
this! NEW PLANTS THIS WEEK.
Hardy plants to temperate plants, something for everybody!

WAIT, NOT READY FOR TREES YET?
Certain trees are limited in number so if you are in an area that is still frozen and can't
plant yet, we can ship your order when you are ready for them! For subscribers only!
- Completed purchase reserves the trees
- **Minimum 5
trees**
- YOU tell us when to ship!
Our Little Cover Girl is Back in Stock! It's the tree that is on the cover of the
world's most popular book on our beloved hobby: Gardening in Miniature: Create Your Own Tiny Living World. Available autographed, on Amazon, in German, or for Kindle. You can find it at Barnes and Noble and Chapters too. Get your copy today! The Elf Spruce tree shown on cover is about 12 years old when that photo was taken. The photo above that shows it today, about 15 years old, with a new 4" Elf Spruce - most of the
4" potted trees are 3 to 4 years old when we get them from the grower. This Elf Spruce grows about one inch per year. We planted it in the ground and left it there for a few years. Please don't tell the bonsai artists!
Before and after: The Monteray Cypress gets bushier and more beautiful each year. I would estimate it would take the smaller, 10 inch tree to grow as tall as the big one in 6 or 7 years. In the meantime, you can enjoy
it in your mini-miniature garden! [Great for a cool spot indoors with lots of bright, indirect light or grow in outdoors in a container or in the garden bed in zones 7 thru 11.] Great color, huh? See more up
in the store here. ON THE MINI GARDEN GURU BLOG THIS WEEK:
