Happy Memorial Day
Weekend!
Hi ,
Well it appears that summer is finally upon us! I hope this finds you well, safe and preparing for the first long weekend of the summer. It's about time isn't it? We've been getting a couple of days here and there with "typical" spring weather here in Seattle. And by
typical, I mean warm and sunny - juuust enough to remind us of our usual spring weather in between the cooler, rainy days... Fun! (Not - but I'm trying to make the best of it...)
And since there is a long weekend coming up, I think you know what means! Yes! Time for some miniature gardening! Personally, I'll be working on my in-ground miniature gardening throughout the weekend, getting it ready for some more lessons and how-to videos for building your world in-ground. It really is different than mini gardening in a container in a lot of ways. Stay tuned for
more.
About the Above Garden
You might recognize the above miniature garden if you've been following me for awhile. This was one of our few public installations at an Old Soldier's Home in Orting, Wa., about an hour's drive south of Seattle. It was planted in May of 2017. We fell out of touch with the Home and lost our access during the shutdown. I like to think the residents took over the maintenance and the
watering and I'll get a call, or an email, one day asking about something. Hey, I can dream, can't i? See more if this garden here, up on the Mini Garden Guru blog.
Our Peace Banner Campaign is still on <- 100% of all sales go to the Ukraine relief
effort through ICRC.org. We're over $200 as of today! Thank you to all who have donated! #PrayforPeace <3 <3 <3
Whatever you do, make it fun, stay safe and sane while you make a mini garden! :oD

A Memorial Day Garden from 2014 - The plants in this container, counterclockwise from the front: Hens and Chicks, Woolly Thyme, Silver Mist Lily Turf, Blue Moon Sawara Cypress, a Miniature Juniper,
Capo Blanco Sedum and Woolly Thyme in the front, right. The flowers at the base of the statue are a miniature flower arrangement. I found the wee USA flags at a party store - they are the flag toothpicks for appetizers.

A Question for the Collective: Do you recognize this guy on the horse? I'm asking for help in trying to figure out if this guy is a good statue to use for our Memorial Day. His outfit looks European to me
though. I've tried to do an image search through Google and get no leads. I've been sporadically searching for info on him for years. I found the statue about 20 years ago. Got any insight? Hit reply!

ABOUT OUR SHIPPING:
All shipping costs are checked by Steve and we refund any savings promptly because of our wide range of unique inventory: we ship tiny miniatures, heavy patio materials and living plants, sometimes the automatic shipping calculator "packs" the order in multiple boxes which costs more. Steve can pack better than any online shipping
calculator can - if we can save you money on shipping, we will.
