Hi ,
Happy Lunar New Year! We hope this finds you well, safe and in good spirits wherever you are!
Well, since it is the Year of the Tiger and the Bengals are going to the Super Bowl, I thought to try "another" sports-team-garden that just happened to have a tiger as a mascot. (Coincidence?) If you've been with me for awhile, you know about my Seahawks-12th Woman miniature gardens. This year it was a fun to work with a different color scheme and logos for a
change.
I got a "little" carried away with the photos in this week's Gazette so I'll keep this short.
Enjoy!
Stay safe. And whatever you do, please make it fun and safe for everyone,
Janit Calvo, Head MG, Owner

ABOVE: Sneak Peek: We're working on getting more indoor plants in stock but we won't be able to send them out until the weather warms up. See below for the plant info.
Miniature Hamburgers are a VERY good reason to make your way to a dollhouse miniature show! Find a
miniature show near you this spring - use Google and type your city and "dollhouse miniature show" and see what comes up. Also try searching with your nearest major city. There is a calendar here that may help through the National Association of Miniature Enthusiasts (Miniatures.org) but it's incomplete.
Indoor Trees are the biggest challenge when creating a miniature garden for indoors. We look for the
miniature versions of full-sized trees to cinch the realism. I'm hopeful to start selling more indoor-miniature-plant options this spring and summer.
The plants, clockwise from upper left: A baby Norfolk Pine, the leafy shrubs are Coprosma, Golden Baby Tears and, under the tiger, is String of Turtles (Peperomia prostrata)

Indoor vs. Outdoor Plants- What's the Diff??
In general, indoor plants are tropical plants that need to stay above 60F all year long. That's why you see houseplants in the Florida garden beds. (That said - We hope all our friends in the east and midwest are staying warm!)
If you bring an outdoor plant inside for the winter, it will think it's summer all year long and won't be able to go dormant and rest. A stressed plant will attract pests and disease which is why you always hear me go on about "Right plant in the right place" - because it works.

I finally did it! I made my own football out of Fimo. I'm getting better and better at sculpting small. Like most other crafts, you need to be patient with your learning curve and give yourself some room to make mistakes.
Another tip to sculpting small is to simplify. The football is supposed to have 8 stitches but, by the time I realized they were too big, it was too late so I just went with it. It does the trick!
Football Fun: I showed it to Steve and said, "I dunno, it looks a bit deflated." Steve responded, "Is that Tom Brady's football??" LOL!! (Here's the reference to "deflategate" - Tom Brady and the Patriots were found playing with deflated footballs in 2015 - which are much easier to handle...)

ABOUT OUR SHIPPING:
We Ship Internationally (- but not the plants!)
All shipping costs are checked by Steve and we refund any savings promptly because of our wide range of unique inventory: we ship tiny miniatures, heavy patio materials and living plants, sometimes the automatic shipping calculator "packs" the order in multiple boxes which costs more. Steve can pack better than any online shipping calculator can - if we can
save you money on shipping, we will.

We appreciate and serve everyone regardless of race, color,
gender, politics, religion or who they love.
Viva la difference!
If we were all the same, the world would be a
very, very boring place to live.
