Hi !
Well, it was the perfect week for it!
At the beginning of the week, a bomb cyclone visited us here on the West Coast that brought rain and wind toppling trees and electrical pole and thusly wreaked havoc with the power and the traffic.
And then, towards the end of the week, an "atmospheric river." Record breaking rainfall that caused floods and more toppled trees. (All we needed was a plague of locusts.)
So, it was the perfect week to bury myself in the studio. Well, I kinda had to. Our studio always floods during any kind of "epic" rainstorm. Which really means I have to clean up the studio and get everything off the floor. In the end, I get a clean
studio! Honestly, it's the only time that I DO clean up the studio. Lol!
Can you tell I'm kinda looking for the sliver lining - albeit a small one? Always your eternal optimist, eh? :oD
THANK YOU ALL - for the responses to the survey last week. You're insight is invaluable and your notes were comforting and reassuring. More on the results next week...
ICYMI - Need Your Help - It will only take a minute:
We're approaching our anniversary month in November which will be our official 20th Anniversary! And I would like to ask a miniature favor, please. I've made a short and quick survey to get more insight and to help guide us through the next phase of this hobby. Here's the link to the survey HERE. It only takes a minute and it would be very helpful. (It's anonymous too! I can't see who answered
what.)
Keeping this short this week, I'm prepping for our 20th Anniversary next month. Happy Halloween!
Whatever you do make it fun - and a lil' bit scary...

Above: I've been practicing my miniature pumpkin carving skills all week. Needless to say, my hand hurts. Lol!

Happy Halloween! The biggest challenge is to keep them looking fresh over the course of a few days because I couldn't carve them all in one sitting. By the end of the week, I had to get Steve to help me hollow them out because my hand was wearing out. The right tool was a very sturdy, long-handled serving spoon <~ now on my thrift-store list!
You can probably guess my favorite pumpkins are the tiniest! And they are the easiest to carve too.
Another takeaway from my week-long carving session: Stop when the knife starts slipping in your hand. You know you're getting tired when you almost stab yourself in the chest so you may want to stop before that... That's simply not the kind of scary Halloween that I want to have. Lol!

We grew most of the pumpkins ourselves this summer. Another big takeaway from that experience is to grow your
pumpkin patch out of sight - it's not too pretty towards the end of the summer and the vines run everywhere and smother the smaller plants. (The tiniest pumpkins we picked asap.)
I had to wait until Friday night to get this shot. The rain finally stopped yesterday morning. I used the battery-powered tea lights for the small
jack-o-lanterns and regular tea lights for the bigger ones - you can see the difference in the color of the light.

Our dog, Kitty, dressed as a 'The Great Lion of the Savanna.' Waaaayyy too CUTE! <3 There are furry cuffs to put on her front paws but she'll have none of that... Lol! Happy
Halloween!

ABOUT OUR SHIPPING:
We ship internationally (- but not the plants!)
All shipping costs are checked by Steve and we refund any savings promptly because of our wide range of unique inventory: we ship tiny miniatures, heavy patio materials and living plants, sometimes the automatic shipping calculator "packs" the order in multiple boxes which costs more. Steve can pack better than any online shipping calculator can - if we can save you money on
shipping, we will.
MORE ABOUT OUR SHIPPING: There is some confusion when checking out of our online store and seeing the shipping option of "Priority Mail." Priority Mail is the term the United States Post System calls their services. Anything over 1 pound
gets shipped by Priority Mail. They have done-away with Parcel Post. ~> It does not mean you get "priority" over anyone else's order. It's just what they call it. We are not able to send any order over a pound any other way. We choose to stay with USPS because they are least expensive, 98% reliable and they usually get your orders to you within 3 days at most. We've priced other services and USPS is our choice to save you money and ship your plants to you safely and quickly.
:o)
We appreciate and serve everyone regardless of race, color,
gender, politics, religion or who they love.
Viva la difference!
If we were all the same, the world would be a
very, very boring place to live.
We believe in Oneness, Kindness & Love.
